Welcome to Heartlands Youth Ministry….

Heartlands Youth Ministry (HYM) desires to help Middle and High School students (6th-12th) live rooted in Jesus’ love and released to make disciples. We believe students serve a vital role in our church and in our community and have the opportunity to help transform their own lives and other’s lives by using their unique gifts, talents, and passions to serve and love others.

What is the purpose of HYM?

Our purpose in HYM is to help youth be rooted in Jesus, follow Jesus, and share Jesus by being released to make disciples who make more disciples. Our prayer is that our students will be a movement of people defined by our love for God and be a light that provides love for others!

Matthew 22:36-40
36
“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

We are given two important commands to follow! Love God, Love People. To help our students live out this mission, we focus on 6 pillars that guide how we love God and love others, they are strategies and actions steps to help our students live out these commands and be Jesus to those around us!

Loving People:
4. Loving Environment
5. Expecting God to Work
6. Intentional Contact

Loving God:
1. Priority of Prayer
2. Priority of God’s Word
3. Proper Concept of Christ
