Missions...well, Mission:
To send people
to reach the lost with the gospel, as taught in
the New Testament, to disciple new converts, and
to strengthen new church bodies and their
leadership, so the Church can be duplicated.
- Place equipped evangelists (who have
his/her spiritual roots with Heartlands Church)
on the field with sufficient support to sustain
his/her personal needs.
- Support existing missions and/or
missionaries financially: Direct support to
Kikongooni evangelists, mechanical school, and
orphans.
- Provide support to existing missions and
missionaries in terms of prayer partnership and
fellowship.
- Educate our local body about our
responsibility under the great commission and
about specific missions and missionaries by
bringing a missionary to speak to the
congregation.
- Bring in Bernard and Georgina, the leaders
of the Kikongooni church, to the U.S. in March
to spend time with Heartlands Church and it’s
members.
- Provide substantive short-term mission
experience for a team of adults from
Heartlands, with a long-term goal that this
experience will heighten the awareness of our
congregation about the need for mission work
and will begin opening doors for those who
might rise from the congregation to serve on
the full-time mission field.
- Work with other ministry teams to
facilitate and develop opportunities for our
church members to experience mission work.
