It is a great calling from our Lord Jesus for men to serve as his example of the Good Shepherd. Jesus said a good shepherd would give his life for his flock. The shepherd would lead his flock to pasture and water; he would care for their wounds; he would lead them; comfort them; keep them together; and keep them safe from predators and dangers. The sheep could depend on their shepherd for everything. This is an impossible human task, but with God, nothing is impossible. God has shown this promise to be true and has blessed me with 25 years of marriage to Nancy and five grown children. It is a great blessing to serve as a shepherd for Heartlands Church. —Mike
